Qashqai Carpets : Qashqai carpets are woven by nomads who live in the mountainous areas of Southwest Persia, the provinces of Fars, Khuzestan, south of Isfahan and around the city Shiraz. Their carpets have a high knot density and a wide variety of designs, usually in deep red and blue colors. They weave carpets, Kilims and decorative textiles (ribbons, bags, etc.), which depict scenes from their lives with various representation of humans, animals, birds, trees and flowers. They also depict historical monuments, mostly from Persepolis.
Shiraz Carpets : The rugs Shiraz are kind of Persian carpets made in the villages around the city of Shiraz. The designs are geometric, and are characterized by a medallion in the center of the rug. Their colors are red and brown and often use diamond shape as the main motif.
Nomadic carpets with designs influenced by urban carpets: They are carpets woven by nomads who for the past few years had been living in villages. The carpets are woven in the nomadic style of weaving, but their designs are nowadays influenced by urban carpets. Due to the nomadic style of weaving carpets are sometimes uneven in shape.
